Tekken Part 2 Electric Boogaloo
as I've said before in the previous blog tekken has a plethora of different characters of different nationalities and archetypes. one of the most liked and used was the introduction of Steve fox the British boxing champion and with him came one of the best playstyles both amateur and competitively the swaying boxer. as opposed to Dudley from the street fighter series Steve's main form of defense is dodging and swaying back and forth and left and right he does have parries but those are more meant for mixing up your defense and even switching from defense to offense. he has more things to him that I'll elaborate on a later date.
another archetype that tekken does very well is the grappler and boy does Namco like to put a lot of them in there here is a list of the tekken grapplers King, Armor King, Craig Marduk, Jaycee, and Bruce Irvin. I will talk about king at this point as he is the embodiment of the stereotypical grappler. king as a grappler has many counter attack grabs and counter hits that lead into grabs. king has good striking and regular grab damage but what he is known for and his most difficult moves are his chain grabs which are extremely long grabs that for each consecutive proper input he does a new damaging move all of these grabs lead into a high damage what could be described as a combo ender. now these are very damaging but are hard to land and you must remember each input and do it fast enough.
these are just a few of the many different archetypes that appear in fighting games and tekken has many like the striker the taekwondo user and more
I will take a break from tekken to talk a bit about another favorite of mine the blazblue series made by arc system works and published by aksys games
so expect that in the future

this one's for real
it's time for the first real blog and it's on you guessed it ..... TEKKEN oh you thought it was something else oh well. so one of the first thing people notice when they play tekken is the good use of 3d rooms and even infinite space arenas. another is the extremely long move lists for just about every character except for pallete swaps like Panda/Kuma Violet/Lee chaolan and eddy gordo/tiger these move lists have gone down in history as one of the longest in fighting game history. Tekken has a over arcing story line but are known also for there non canon games like tekken tag tournament.
Tekken tag has received criticism for having to large a cast of characters. Namco has taken many different aspects from different games like dead or alive with destructible stages and also taken from other Namco games like soul caliber with character customization. tekken also features many different archetypes like grapplers, strikers, technical characters and mixup characters. There have been roughly 8 games of tekken so far but tekken 7 is coming out in the future hopefully to America as well.
I will post more on this in the near future so wait for more hype
